Ridiculous Call of the Day (Inaugural Edition), 03/09/20

Presently, I work-from-home as a frontline customer service representative for a major electricity service provider. Accordingly, I deal with some difficult customers, especially those who call in w/high bill complaints. The majority of ppl are cool and easy to work with but I’d guesstimate about 3-8% are jerks and/or very difficult to satisfy. So, for entertainment, I thought of writing up a regular series of blogs on the topic since I already share these stories with my girlfriend, Stephanie. These may be daily or a few times weekly, depending on the volume of ridiculousness I’m handling, haha.

Today, a BP (business partner) called regarding a disconnect notice she received & claimed she made a pmt on 02/10/20. I advised we had no record of pmt on file and reiterated our request (she’d already spoken with someone previously) for documentation from the bank to show proof of pmt (standard operating procedure).

BP became upset that she couldn’t get to the bank b/c she has no vehicle and would have to get a ride from someone. I empathized but explained we need documentation to research/locate her missing pmt. She began huffing/puffing but said she’d try and find a way. She even asked if we would pay for her ride to the bank (NOPE)? Then, as we’re getting toward end of the call, she starts threatening to take this to her lawyer & says it’s ridiculous that we took $$$ out of her acct but don’t have the pmt on file and we’re threatening to disconnect her service.

My Comment: oh, so she can go to a lawyer, but not to the bank to document the alleged pmt … Are you fucking kidding me ?!
